NMDC plan Rs. 150 cr. Plant in Karnataka

Staterun miner NMDC Ltd will set up a 300,000tonne capacity plant to make iron ore concentrate from iron ore waste with an investment of `150 crore in Karnataka, a top executive of the company said on Thursday.
The mining firm has reserves to the extent of 12 million tonnes of iron ore waste from which iron can be extracted further. The waste has been generated over a period from regular mining, NMDC chairman and managing director Rana Som said in Hyderabad.
Global Logic to acquire Indian firm

GlobalLogic Inc, a software products research and development company, is close to acquiring an Indian firm, which operates in the domain of product engineering, its global chief executive officer Peter Harrison told `Mint'. Harrison, who is in India currently said a definitive agreement has been signed with the company. However, Harrison refused to divulge the name of the company or the deal amount.
The company is also looking at a new delivery centre in the South in the near future, said Sunil Sigh, managing director, India. GlobalLogic is also planning to list on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). “We are embarking upon that journey”, Harrison said talking about the listing but remained noncommittal on the timeline.

Hero group raising Rs. 3,400 cr. Via bonds

The Hero group is raising `3,400 crore through issue of bonds to help pay for its acquisition of Honda Motor Co. Ltd's 26% stake in their Hero Honda Motors Ltd joint venture, a per son with direct knowledge of the matter said on Thursday. An arm of the Hero group is raising `2,900 crore via three month bonds and the remaining `500 crore via 12month bonds. The coupon rate will be finalized in the next couple of days and the funds will be raised next week, the official said.
