Berger announces succession plan
Berger Paints India Ltd on Monday said in a stock market filing its board had appointed Rishma Kaur as an alternate director for her father Kuldip Singh Dhingra, the firm's chairman.
The company also announced the appointment of Kanwardeep Singh Dhingra as an alternate director for his father Gurbachan Singh Dhingra, Berger's vice chairman.
Both Kaur and Gurbachan Singh Dhingra are Berger employees. They work as national business development manager and manager--project engineering, respectively. The appointments were part of the succession plan of the Dhingra family, Berger's promoters.
Bhel-NTPC JV firm’s CMD Singh quits
In less than three years of its incorporation, C.P. Singh, chairman and managing director (CMD) of the joint venture (JV) firm formed by NTPC Ltd and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (Bhel), quit amid differences with the promoters.
The JV, NTPC BHEL Power Projects Pvt. Ltd, was formed in April 2008 to jointly execute engineering, procurement and construction contracts and to manufacture and supply power equipment in India and abroad.
People familiar with the matter said both parties blamed each other, with Bhel and NTPC accusing the firm of nonperforming, while Singh alleged a lack of support from the two public sector firms.
Rai Nayak named CEO of Colors
Raj Nayak has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of Colors, the Hindi general entertainment channel of Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd.
The announcement comes shortly after former CEO Rajesh Kamat put in his papers to join CA Media, the entertainment, media and technology arm of USbased Chernin Group Pvt. Ltd, promoted by former News Corp. president and chief operating officer Peter Chernin. Nayak is expected to join Colors early next week.
Nayak was also the founder managing director of Aidem Ventures Pvt. Ltd, an independent media consulting, marketing and advertising sales company, which was started in March 2010.
