Ex- Porsche CEO Andy Goss joins JLR
Tatas owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on Thursday said it has appointed ex Porsche chief executive Andy Goss as the president for its North American operations with effect from May following the retirement of incumbent Gary Temple.
“Goss, 53, will have overall responsibility for the National Sales Co. operations of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands in the US and Canada”, the company said in a statement.
‘Nano’s overseas production site soon’
Tata Motors Ltd will soon finalize an overseas production site for its small car Nano, a senior official has said.
The auto maker is exploring various options at different places and looking at uninterrupted supply chain for the components. “The work is at a very high stage”, Tata Industries Ltd managing director Kishor A. Chaukar said when asked about a timeline to produce Nano overseas.
Tata Industries is one of the investment arms of the Tata Group. He said Tata Motors is looking at various regions such as Latin America, SouthEast Asia and Africa. “They are looking at any of these possibilities”.

Hindustan Copper to open Jharkhand mine
Hindustan Copper Ltd is seeking environment clearance to reopen its another closed mine in Jharkhand, as part of its expansion plans to augment production capacity from the current 3.21 million tonnes (mt) to 12.41 mt by 201617.
The company has also invited an expression of interest to appoint a consultancy firm for carrying out environ mental studies for clearance from the ministry of environment and forest.
“Sealed offers are invited...from consulting firms...for conducting environ mental studies (environmental impact assessment and environmental management plan) for environment clearance required for renewal of Rakha Mining lease in district Shighbhum East, Jharkhand”, the company said on its website.
