Nairman appointed solicitor general

Senior lawyer Rohington Nariman was on Wednesday appointed the solicitor general of India. The appointments committee of cabinet has approved the name of Rohington (54), sources in the law ministry said.

Cadila arm acquires German firm Bremer

Cadila Healthcare Ltd, through its 100% subsidiary Zydus Ani mal Health Ltd (ZAHL), has signed a share purchase agreement with ICICI Venture, to acquire 100% shareholding of Finest Procuring Solutions Ltd, which in turn holds 100% shareholding of Bremer Pharma GmbH, of Germany, Cadila said in a media statement.

Firms cautious on economic outlook

Companies remain cautious about the country's economic outlook in the short term amid high inflation hurt ing overall business activities, says a sur vey. The business confidence index stood at 145.2 points in JulySeptember quar ter of 2011 as compared with 145.3 points reported over AprilJune period of this year, the latest NCAERMasterCard Worldwide Index of Business Confidence said.
