ColgatePalmolive India gets new MD

ColgatePalmolive (India) Ltd (CPIL ) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Prabha Parameswaran as managing director of the company for a period of five years with effect from 1 February 2012. In a filing to the BSE, CPIL said. Parameswaran's appointment is subject to the approvals of the Central government and shareholders of the company. The announcement came after the promotion of Mukul Deoras as president, Asia division of ColgatePalmolive Co. and as chairman of the board of directors of CPI.



Infosys BPO to acquire Portland

The country's second largest software exporter Infosys Ltd on Tuesday said its business process outsourcing (BPO) division has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Australiabased Portland Group for A$37 million (`195.44 crore).
Portland Group is a provider of strategic sourcing and category management services.
The all cashdeal is expected to be completed by early January 2012, subject to certain closing conditions being met, Infosys said in a statement.
“The group's expertise in strategic sourcing and category management services will complement the global sourcing and procurement platform at Infosys BPO,“ Infosys BPO chief executive officer Swami Swaminathan said.
