Isgec forms JV with Japan’s Hitachi Zosen
Isgec Heavy Engineering and Japan’s Hitachi Zosen Corporation have formed a joint venture to make specialised and critical process equipment.
The capital for the new company - Isgec Hitachi Zosen - is pegged at Rs 100 crore.
In the new entity, Isgec Heavy Engineering will hold 51 per cent stake, while Hitachi Zosen Corp will have 49 per cent, the companies said in a joint press release.
“The JV will cater to the specialised and critical Process Equipment requirements of refineries, fertiliser and petrochemical industries all across the world,” said Aditya Puri, Managing Director of Isgec Heavy Engineering.
Isgec Hitachi Zosen will utilise one of the manufacturing facilities of Isgec, located at the port town of Dahej in Gujarat.
“We are very happy that our relationship of the past few years has now moved on to a joint venture company. We are confident that with Isgec’s expertise, we will be able to leverage our technology to give the market top end solutions,” Mr Hisao Matsuwake, Managing Director, Hitachi Zosen Corp said.
Airtel launches 4G services at Rs 999
Telecom major Bharti Airtel launched its 4G LTE (long term evolution) network here on Tuesday. 4G is a high speed wireless broadbrand service with high upload and download speeds.
The service was launched by the Union Telecom and IT Minister, Mr Kapil Sibal.
High speed internet services
The new technology will allow high speed internet services that include high definition video streaming and instant photo and video downloads. It will also facilitate quicker uploads.
Compared to the existing 3G services that allow downloads speeds of up to 21 mbps (mega bytes per second), 4G allows download speeds of “upto 100 mbps’’ (nearly 5 times higher than 3G). 2G networks have much a slower speed of 144 kbps (kilo bytes per second).
Airtel has launched the service on TD-LTE technology to offer high speed broadband services.
Tariff plans
There are three tariff plans starting at Rs 999 a month for 6GB of data. However, the dongle is steeply priced at Rs 7,999. In comparison, dongles for 3G services are priced at around Rs 2,500.
As an introductory offer on the Rs 999 post-paid plan, customers will get a money-back for a value equivalent of one month’s rent, spread over first six bill cycles. Customers will get a bill discount of Rs 167/bill for six bills.
On the Rs 1,399 and Rs 1,999 post-paid plans, customers will get a money-back for a value equivalent of two month’s rent, spread over first six bill cycles. They will get a bill discount of Rs 466/ bill for six bills in the case of Rs 1,399 plan, and Rs 666/bill for six bills in the case of Rs 1,999 plan.
