Goafest 2012: Ogilvy and Creativeland Asia walk away with a Grand Prix, each

The Creative Abby Awards at Goafest 2012 was once again dominated by Ogilvy, third year in a row. Creativeland Asia, Taproot and Leo Burnett followed closely.

Amidst much cheer and drum-rolling, the much awaited Creative Abby Awards were announced at the Goafest 2012 held at Zuri White Sands on April 22. Continuing its winning streak, this year, too, Ogilvy India walked away with all top metals.
Ogilvy won a Grand Prix this year as well, along with the maximum awards - 50 metals including 10 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze metals. Ogilvy won the Grand Prix in the Online Integrated category for Photographs Case campaign for Fox Crime. The agency's work for Fox Crime (Photographs Case campaign) earned the agency gold metals in five categories, including Direct, Director Response Digital and Direct (TV), and two gold metals in the Digital category (Brand Campaign Website/Microsite and Online Integrated Campaign). For 'Mentos Sour Marbles', it won three gold metals in Design, Print and Out of Home (OOH) categories.
The agency's 'Anniversary' campaign for Imperial Blue also earned a gold metal. It also won a gold metal in the Radio category for 'Poochne main kya jaata hain - sir?', and a gold metal in the Direct (Dimensional Mall) category for 'Legend of falling leaves' for ITC Maurya, New Delhi.
However, the agency also faced competition from Creativeland Asia, which won a Grand Prix and five silver metals. The agency won the Grand Prix in the Integrated category for Audi A8L 3D.
Closely on its heel were Taproot and Leo Burnett. While Taproot won six gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze metals, Leo Burnett won three gold, 11 silver and 21 bronze metals.
The much popular 'Har friend zaroori hain' campaign earned a gold metal for Taproot in the Film category. Taproot won two gold metals in the OOH and Print categories for Audi Book India. In the Print Craft category, the agency won gold for 'Visual Classifieds/Socks' for The Times of India. Next, in the Integrated category, Taproot won two gold metals for Pepsi 'Change the Game' campaign.
Next, Leo Burnett won two gold metals in the Print Craft category for Bajaj Bulbs and www.gandhifont.com, respectively. Its work on www.gandhijifont.com earned the agency another gold in the Direct (Dimensional Mail) category.
DBB Mudra Group, which bagged two gold, 13 silver and 17 bronze metals, won 32 metals in all. It won a gold in the Print Craft category for Sanctuary and another gold in the Design category for Steadfast Shredders.
The other agencies that won gold were Grey India (one gold, six silver and 10 bronze), BBDO India (one gold, four silver and eight bronze), JWT (one gold, three silver and 12 bronze), Jack in the Box (one gold and one silver), Sapient Nitro India (one gold and one silver) and XOX Design (one gold and one bronze).
Amongst the creative agencies that participated from southeast Asian countries, Phoenix Ogilvy bagged one gold and one silver. It won a gold metal in the OOH category for Titus Knives.
Amongst production houses, Nirvana Films won one gold, one silver and one bronze. It won a gold in the Film Craft category for Vodafone's Super Zoozoo campaign.
Studio Eekasaurus also bagged one gold and a silver metal. The production house won the gold metal in Film Craft category for Google Chrome's Tanjore Painting campaign. Ramesh Deo Production won a gold in the Film Craft category for Mumbai Mirror's 'I am Mumbai' campaign.
