Website launched for 12th plan
Deputy chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia launched a website and face book page for the 12th Plan on Wednesday. “The website will be interactive where visitors may be able to make suggestions on what should go into the making of the approach paper of the plan”, Ahluwalia told media persons.
The Plan panel has highlighted 12 key challenges that the 12th Plan needs to address. Enhancing skills and employment generation, transport infrastructure, climate change, inclusiveness, energy security, rural transformation and agriculture growth, better education and preventive healthcare are some vital areas around which the approach paper will be mad
 No need for FDI in farm sector
Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar on Wednesday said there is no need to encourage foreign direct invest ment (FDI) in the farm sector as large number of farmers have small holdings, but welcomed FDI in the food processing sector. “FDI in agriculture is not required.

S Tel, Videocon asked to pay 60% of penalty
The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) on Wednesday asked new operators S Tel and Videocon Teleservices to pay 60% of the penalty within two weeks, imposed on them by the department of telecommunications (DoT) for failing to meet their rollout obligations.
TDSAT chairman justice S.B. Sinha asked S Tel, jointly owned by C. Sivasankaran and Bahrain Telecommunications Co. BSC, to pay 60% of the penal try to the government.
Videocon has approached TDSAT for the third time and S Tel for the second against the demand of LD charges by DoT for failing to roll out their network within one year from the date of allotment of start up spectrum.
