Koutons president Ahluwalia resigns
The exodus of top executives from debt ridden apparel retailer Koutons Retail India Ltd continued as President Balvinder Singh Ahluwalia joining the exit list.
“I have quit Koutons Retail recently and have not joined any other company yet”, Ahluwalia said.
In the last year, Koutons Retail, which reportedly has around `660 crore debt on its books and is currently undergoing a corporate debt restructuring, has seen a series of top executives leaving.

Posco plant is out of Gadag
Facing farmers' protests and stiff resistance from the opposition, Karnataka chief minister B.S.
Yeddyurappa on Thursday said a proposed `30,000 crore steel project by Korean firm Pohang Iron and Steel Co. (Posco) will not come up in Gadag district, but will be relocated to a place where farmers voluntarily give land.
“Posco plant will not come up in Gadag district, even if farmers come forward to give lands. The government will relocate the project elsewhere, where farmers voluntarily give land,“ Yeddyurappa said.

Manufacturing policy discussion today
Commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma will discuss the proposed manufacturing policy and industry concerns on green clearances for projects with new environment minister Jayanthi Natarajan on Friday.
“Both the ministers will meet tomorrow to discuss issues like the proposed policy and environmental clearances for various projects,“ an official said on Thursday.
The draft manufacturing policy, which aims to attract overseas investments besides increasing the share of manufacturing in gross domestic product, has been stuck due to inter ministerial differences, with opposition coming mainly from the labour and environment ministries.
