Joshi appointed CBDT
The government has appointed M. C. Joshi as chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). Joshi takes over from Prakash Chandra, who retired on 31 July. The government also announced the appointment of K. Madhavan Nair, a 1975 batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service, as member, CBDT. Meanwhile, Joshi has decided to keep a tab on all the investigations into black money trail, a PTI report said.

Masood appointed secretary at MCA
Naved Masood has taken over as new secretary in the ministry of corporate affairs on Monday. Masood, who was special secretary and financial advisor, department of health and family welfare in the ministry of health and family welfare, replaces D.K.Mittal.

Shantanu Mitra is Fullerton India CEO
Shantanu Mitra on Monday took over as chief executive officer at Fullerton India, the firm said in a note.

Mitra was deputy chief executive at the firm, overseeing risk management and the urban business.
